CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: The Judge; Rook; Dep
Age: Unknown - late 40s as of New Dawn
Canon: Far Cry 5/Far Cry New Dawn

World Description:
FAR CRY 5: HOPE COUNTY, MONTANA, 2018
Hope County, once a small rural community where the wildlife is plentiful and the biggest town is a single road with a scattering of buildings, has fallen under the control of a militant doomsday cult, Eden's Gate. Lead by Joseph Seed and the three Heralds - Jacob Seed, John Seed, and Faith, they promise salvation, but enact their message through violence, kidnappings, false promises and a drug called the Bliss. The county is at the mercy of Eden's Gate and the Peggies - Project at Eden's Gate followers - are armed, dangerous, and brainwashed.
In the center, the church of Eden and Joseph Seed himself pulls the strings; to the north, Jacob Seed runs an outpost in an old military hospital that trains only the best and brightest of the Peggies, the Chosen, as an elite force. To the south, John Seed - whose wealth is responsible for the cult's ownership of almost every piece of property and land - cleanses followers of their sins with the promise of yes. Faith, not a Seed relative and one of several Faiths that have come into Eden's family over the years, maintains her controls over the Angels with the Bliss, a drug manufactured and released in gas form to keep their followers docile.

FAR CRY NEW DAWN: HOPE COUNTY, MONTANA, 2035
The seven seals have broken, as the Father, Joseph, said they would. The county has fallen to nuclear annihilation, and is home to mutant wildlife, neon flora, and a new tyrant: the Highwaymen. The survivors make their post in a little settlement called Prosperity, and supplies make for the world's new currency: springs, gears, oil, screws, animal hides and herbs. To the far north, trapped away with the Bliss flooding miles of land, Eden's Gate has retreated to a walled off colony and begun calling themselves New Eden, accessible only via a dangerous river route and unwilling to speak to outsiders. The Highwaymen run the county with the same hostility Hope once had - violence, this time in bright, bold colors, motorcycle gear and headed by a Mickey and Lou, a pair of twins that solve problems their own way.

History:
First a Junior Deputy, the Judge was responsible for the attempt to restore Hope County to the peaceful rural area it once was. Upon arresting Joseph Seed, breaking the seventh seal, nuclear devastation took the county instead. The Judge spent seventeen years in a bunker with only the Prophet, Joseph, as company, eventually coming to the conclusion that they were wrong and desperately seeking repentance for their actions. In New Dawn, they have become the Father's Shadow, a silent judge of morality and Joseph Seed's right hand... man?

Death: Judge survives in canon, but for game purposes, they were killed by Mickey and Lou after trying to seek vengeance for the burning of the New Eden compound.

What are your plans for this character in-game?
I'm definitely looking to explore a lot of character development with Judge. They're entering the game essentially brainwashed, nonverbal, and anti-technology, and have been isolated for years with just Joseph Seed and then the cult to keep them company. They're going to be really freaked out by the tablet, for one, but I'm also looking forward to exploring them coming around to the knowledge that Joseph was wrong about the afterlife, and the change in their communication that comes with an environment like this.

What aspects of this game and/or its setting are you most interested in having this character engage with?
Definitely the afterlife aspect. The Judge has always been promised Eden, so to die and be brought here, instead? It's a complete turn from where they thought they'd be. I think it'll be really neat to play with an unexpected afterlife! The other thing is that Judge is a survivalist type in canon, used to scavenging and constructing their own home, salves and ointments, healing items, weapons, hunting and gathering for food, etc so I'm really excited to interface with the mods and sort out some cool stuff in that regard!

How does your character generally get along with other people?
Formerly pretty social and determined to do the right thing. After the events of 5 and the interim between that and New Dawn, though, they've become much more quiet. Not reclusive at all, mind; they live in a compound with plenty of other people, and get on well enough to cooperate and work together and for the greater good, or what seems right. They are, however, nonverbal - they communicate a lot in gestures and noises, so it's going to be interesting to have that barrier to work around, since not everyone is terribly patient.

What is your character's mental state upon entering the game? Grieving.
This is a really tough thing for Judge, on multiple levels: they've lost almost everyone they've ever cared about, first to the bombs, and they were still processing the deaths of the entire New Eden group and the burning of their home when they died. Joseph was still alive, but so reclusive that Judge hasn't seen him in years, after all, so he counts as a loss too. Now, they're forced to confront the idea that maybe Joseph was wrong.

Skills/Abilities: (Some powers may require nerfing. Please see the FAQ for more information.)

Flaws/Weaknesses: (Please include not only personality flaws and physical weaknesses, but any phobias your character might have, and any people in their life that would count as a weakness. This information may be used for events.)

Personality: (Once again, 1-2 paragraphs will suffice. This section should simply cover the basics, and anything you feel is important that was not covered by the questions above. What sort of things do you keep in mind while playing this character? That's the stuff we're looking for.)

Items: (Remember that your character can only take what was on their person at the time of their death. Magic items may require nerfing, and all items/clothing will be in the condition they were in at death.)
